Belmont House
An 18th Century villa, once home to Mrs Eleanor Coade the inventor of an artificial weatherproof stone known as 'Coade Stone', and later the home of the famous author John Fowles, who wrote 'The French Lieutenant's Woman'. The house and Victorian observatory tower to the left were fully restored by the 'Landmark Trust' in 2015, and also featured in their television series.
