The Republic Square in Prague is situated on the boundary of the Old Town and the New Town. The large pink building is the Palladium Shopping Centre, a multi-level shopping mall opened in October 2007 and now the Czech Republic's largest mall.
Before the building of the centre, archaeologists found the foundations of 12th-century structures that pre-date the building of Prague's city walls.
