This artificial reservoir together with the smaller Cúber Reservoir supplies water to the city of Palma. When full, the water flows over this dam into the narrow Torrent de Gorge Blau seen here behind the railings, and down through the famous
Torrent de Pareis Gorge to reach the sea at Sa Calobra.
