This is the main reservoir on Mallorca that supplies the city of Palma and it's surrounding area.
The
concrete dam at this end controls the overflow into the Gorg Blau ravine, and down the
Torrent de Pareis Gorge into the sea at Sa Calobra. The levels were fairly low when this photograph was taken in October 2012,
but a few moments later there was an incredible storm which marked the start of the rainy season.
