Triund is situated on a ridge at 2975 m, a 3 hour walk above MacLeod Ganj in HP, India. The views stretch from the Dhaula Dhar range down to the plains of the Punjab (on a clear day). There are several (very welcome) tea stalls, and a Government run Forest Rest House. Triund is on a trekking route over the Indrahar pass to Bharmour and the Ravi valley; originally this was a route for local shepherds but the path was improved during the Raj and much of the original stone path remains, especially lower down the route.
