The Fountain of Onofrio
The Big Fountain of Onofrio in Luza Square, just inside the Pile gate to the old city, is one of Dubrovnik's famous landmarks, and part of the city's original water supply system. It was built in 1438, together with the 8km viaduct that supplies the drinking water that still flows from 16 carved masks around its base.
The fountain was originally built with a second story, but this was lost in the earthquake of 1667
