This is the 'Plaza Major' of Santona , a little town between Santander and Bilbao on northern Spain's Cantabrian coast, Local industry here is based on the processing of fishery products, especially anchovies, and Santona is claimed to be the first place where anchovies were preserved in olive oil.
During February very year, thousands of visitors come to the Carnival in Santona to enjoy the music, high spirits and fantastic atmosphere.
