Win Green is the highest point of Cranborne Chase at 277m (909 ft) and enjoys extensive views in every direction, to the Mendips, the Quantocks, the Isle of Wight, and Salisbury Plain. It is also an SSSI.
There is a distinctive clump of Beech trees at the summit, growing on a Bronze Age bowl barrow, which is visible for many miles. Legend has it that a witch lives here, and if you circle the trees three times and make a wish it will be granted. Photo © D. Etherington.
