The village of Juf
This little mountain village with a population of around 24 is the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe at 2126m. Juf is situated at the end of the road from Avers in the canton of Graubünden, close to the Italian border. The nearest claim to this record is the village of Ushguli in Georgia, said to be somewhere between 2086m and 2200m.
