The Cares Gorge Walk or 'Ruta del Cares' is the most popular walk in the Picos de Europa.
This photograph was taken after about an hour's uphill climb from the starting point at Poncebos, where the track through stunning scenery starts to descend into the main gorge, seen here in the distance.
Unfortunately when this photograph was taken in May 2012, the track was closed after about 7km by a landslide, and it wasn't possible to reach the far end.
