There are three main beaches in Luarca, to the western end of the town and which are popular with the locals. This was taken from the breakwater 'El Martillo' which protects the little
fishing harbour. The lighthouse and the chapel of Atalaya are on the hill opposite the end of the jetty and date from 1862.
