Salas, or San Martin de Salas is a town of colourful houses lying on the route from San Sebastian to Santiago de Compostela, (The 'Camino de Santiago' or Pilgrim's Way). A small tributary of the river Narcea seen here, flows through the town.
Salas is a mountainous region in which coal-mining and agriculture are the principal industries.
