This is Great Britain's only remaining cable operated street tramway, which takes passengers
through the back streets of Llandudno to just below the summit of the Great Orme headland.
The tramway is in two sections with four cars permanently fixed to the cable, and these are controlled by starting and stopping the cable. The car seen here is about to enter the top station.
The large white building behind is the summit station of the
gondola cable car, which provides
an alternative quick and lazy route to the summit.
