The bridge from which this panorama was taken carries water through the Los Gaitanes gorge to the hydroelectric power station in El Chorro. It is around 100 m above the River Guadalhorce, and is accessible via the Camino del Rey, a walkway which allowed workers to walk through the gorge to the dam at the top, and is now popular with climbers and anyone with a good head for heights.
Previously the water was carried in an open canal, but now it flows through a large metal pipe on the bridge. Photo © D.Etherington.
